ATTENDANCE POLICY
____________________________________________________________________________

Even the most efficient worker is of less value when he/she is late or absent from work. The schedule is set to reflect the staffing needs for that day, being late or absent affects not only your fellow team mates but the customer’s needs. The following procedures are to be followed if you are going to be absent or late:

Occurrence Points

  • Call off/Unexcused Absence = 1 Point
  • Tardy/Left Early from a shift = .5 PointsAccumulating 3 points within a 90-day period will trigger a written warning for attendance. Each point drops off the employees record after a point free 90-day period. If the employee accumulates 3 points within a 90-day period, you will be placed on a 30 to 60-day probationary period. While on a probationary period, should the employee accrue an additional unexcused absence or combination of 2 Tardy/Leave Early from your shift you will be placed on a Final Written Warning. While on a Final Written Warning, should there be any additional attendance occurrences the employee will face further disciplinary action up to termination.
  • All employees are required to notify their supervisor as soon as possible, if they are going to be late or not available to work their scheduled shift. They must CALL the supervisor, any other form of communication will result in immediate documentation as an unexcused absence, a 1-point occurrence.
  • Any employee who does not report for their scheduled shift nor notifies their direct supervisor of an absence will be considered voluntary resignation/job abandonment.
  • All supervisors reserve the right to determine if an absence or tardy is unexcused. Excused absences are defined as previously schedule days off, jury duty, military services, bereavement, Family Medical Leave.
  • In the event of an absence due to illness the employee must utilize their sick time and notify their supervisor as soon as possible. If an employee does not have sick time available to use the supervisor reserves the right to count the absences as unexcused depending on the time frame in which the supervisor was notified.
  • If you are ill, you must call in each day to advise management that you will not be in. In the event of a prolonged illness, 3 days or longer, a doctor’s note must be submitted indicating the time you will be away from work, along with a Return to Work form. Management may modify the daily call in procedure for a prolonged illness.
  • Doctors notes are only accepted for prolonged illnesses and will not be accepted as an excuse for a one-day absence unless agreed upon with your supervisor prior to the missed shift.
  • Any consecutive three (3) absence due to illness or hospitalization, will require a statement from the doctor authorizing your return to work.Continued violation of the attendance policy in any form may result in further corrective action up to and/or including termination of employment.
